So, we liked it! It was a combined stretch of about 400 feet by 30 feet of shared private road. That lead to two gates, one to each side. In the subdivision, which are subdivided up into 5 acre tracts and stretch from front to back, ours was a result of two 5 acre tracts that were sub divided up into four pieces. There were two back pieces and a larger front piece. It is a strange configuration and I really don't know why it was split up the way it was. Either way, the land suits it's purpose wonderfully! So, on to the features not listed in the first post. There is a neat dry creek that runs through both properties! When it rains, or rains a lot, there is a small stream that goes through the creek bed. It's very pretty and peaceful. There are also high ridges that separate the creek area from the back part of the land. The ridges go up about 10 or more feet. Sort of like little cliffs. Either way, they are very unique and pleasing to the eye. Then there were two open areas on the back half of the land. There were two big open areas that looked like they were destined for building homes. It looked as they were designed for it...but, someone changed their mind. I wondered why, but stopped the thought and said it was perfect for what we wanted!
It's peaceful to walk on the property. The neighbors seem nice, well the ones that I have talked to, and they can't be seen. They can be heard some, but there is a good amount of privacy. I just wonder if the back of the land is higher than other areas of the property around it. Around it is land owners on the front and both sides of the property within the subdivision. On the backside is a 400 acre parcel of land that belongs to a big business. It's not going away anytime soon. Then part of my brother's property is near another subdivision. Sorta sketchy area, but...i'm sure it will be ok. My brother and I actually went by there this past weekend and looked at the area that backs up to his property. There were about 30% nice homes (which don't seem to fit into the neighborhood), 30% of various types of structures that seem to be held up by glue or staples and the last part are just decent homes. So, it isn't as scary as it was explained to be.
Now, onto the title/deed process!
